Spinelli

Ashley Funicello Spinelli - Spinelli is a wrestling fan and is Italian American. Although small for her age, Spinelli is a huge tomboy. Spinelli's mother at one point remarked that Spinelli has a crush on T.J.; however, it should be noted that this assertion is never confirmed in the series. In the episode "Spinelli's Masterpiece", it is revealed that she has an incredible talent for art. She has twice personally gotten on the good side of Miss Finster: once when Miss Finster babysat her for the weekend, and once when she rescued Miss Finster's cat from a tree. Several times, Spinelli mentions her big brother Joey, though he never appears, stating she wears his boots. She is loosely a member of the group known as the Ashleys (by name association only) and called upon by the other Ashleys if a gift is too beneath to them to accept, but an Ashley is needed to accept it. Spenelli see's her name ASHLEY as a curse and does not like to be seen as a girl and will be violent if someone makes a wisecrack to her about it. Spinelli's middle name is a parody of the last name of former Mouseketeer Annette Funicello.
