Kuchiki Byakuya

Byakuya became captain of the 6^th Divison after it was vacated by his grandfather, Kuchiki Ginrei. He is a very strong and dignified man with a quiet demeanor and a cold sense of humour which he often uses to the detriment of his lieutenant, Abarai Renji. A member of one of the four noble families, he is a very strong believer in the laws of the Soul Society and will uphold those laws even if it brings him pain. He was once married to a woman named Hisana, but she fell ill and died five years after they had been married. After her death, Byakuya fulfilled  her dying wish by seeking out and adopting Hisana’s younger sister Rukia who Hisana had been forced to abandon when they were young.
